The Associated Press reports that the Fraternal Order of Police lodge, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, will be turning to slot machines to help it raise money for charity.
Instead of using telemarketing and bingo games, it plans to instead raise approximately $1,000.00 a month or more running a gambling establishment. The machines will be located inside of a new steakhouse it plans to open up next month. They plan to take advantage of their status as a fraternal organization, which allows it to run up to 10 limited video lottery machines.
Hey, why not? In fact, let them operate more. If you had your choice of playing slot machines to benefit police charities, or to benefit the pockets of greedy businessmen, which would you prefer?
